NCAA Tourney Round 1 Cheerleader Preview - #8 George Mason v. #9 Villanova

For me, this is one of the most interesting match-ups of the entire first round. Most people expected big things out of Villanova this year, but that just didn't happen. Instead they've struggled mightily during the 2nd half of the season and have really failed to find themselves as a team down the stretch. At the same time, George Mason is one of those mid-majors that everyone is scared to play right now. We all know about their Final Four run a few years ago, but they have quietly put together a very solid program. Great 1st round game!

Game of the Day: #4 Pitt v. #10 Villanova

Another huge battle in the Big East today as Pitt tries to completely run away with the league. But Nova is tough at home, despite losing to Georgetown a couple of weeks ago. If Pitt can win this game, I don't think there is any way they lose the league. The only tough road game left is at Louisville, but I think they roll in that one.

Game of the Day -- #7 Villanova v. #3 Syracuse

So this match-up loses a little luster with both teams coming off a loss on Monday, but it's still a tilt between 2 of the top teams in the Big East and the country. I'd expect a rough and tough game with somebody winning a close game. Predicition? Not so much.

PS: I've hit my limit on images added to Picasa (the image host Blogger uses), so I've had to start using a new image host. I went with ImageShack, so we'll see how that goes. Please let me know if this becomes a pain in the ass and I'll try to come up with a new solution.

This game should be a barn-burner. I mean, Robert Morris is a baller. I saw that guy put up 28 points one time . . . Wait, Robert Morris is the name of the school? Really? Oh yeah, this is gonna be a blowout. My bad.

Game of the Day: Villanova v. Georgetown

This is the only game today featuring 2 ranked teams, but it's a doozy. #2 Villanova travels to #8 Georgetown in a major Big East showdown. Nova won the first meeting between these teams 3 weeks ago, surviving a late Hoya rally to pull out a 5-point win. I think Villanova is a damn tough team and Scottie Reynolds has to be on the short list for player of the year. Should be a good game. Maybe the President will show up.

I will have to say, though, the cheerleader talent here leaves a litte bit to be desired. Maybe I just couldn't find the right pics, but I wasn't overly impressed with either squad.
