Week 5 Winners: Pitt

First things first, I'm not sure how South Florida was the 16th best team in the country. So that makes this upset a little inflated. But that's not the point. The polls say this is an upset, so we're putting it in the Weekly Winners spotlight. Does this make Pitt the team to beat the in Big East now?

There's really not much to talk about here. If Pitt wins by less than 15, then people might need to be a little nervous. Otherwise, this is a pre-season game for the Panthers.

Game of the Day -- #4 Pitt v. St. John's

I can't say that I would have ever imagined that St. John's would be involved in a Game of the Day before the season started, but the Red Storm is HOT right now! If I were a Pitt fan, I would be scared of this game. The Fighting Steve Lavins have knocked off Duke, UCONN and Cincinnati in the last three weeks and I wouldn't put it past them to add the Panthers to their list of victims today.

Game of the Day: #4 Pitt v. #10 Villanova

Another huge battle in the Big East today as Pitt tries to completely run away with the league. But Nova is tough at home, despite losing to Georgetown a couple of weeks ago. If Pitt can win this game, I don't think there is any way they lose the league. The only tough road game left is at Louisville, but I think they roll in that one.

Compass Bowl Cheerleader Preview -- Pitt v. Kentucky

First off, what in the hell is the Compass Bowl? Where did this thing come from? And why is it being played on the last weekend of the college football season? Color me baffled.

Anyway, on to the game. If this was a basketball game, I'd be pretty excited. Since it's a football game, though, I don't really care. The only cool storyline in my eyes is the fact that Pitt is, once again, without a coach. It always causes upheaval to fire your coach. But when you fire him before he ever even runs a practice? Well, that is downright embarassing. I don't see Pitt putting up much of a fight in this one.

Pitt Cheerleaders Not Impressed By New Coach

Pitt had a rough season that ended with Dave Wannstedt "resigning" earlier this month. Now the Panthers have a deal with a new head coach: Miami (OH)'s Mike Haywood. Really? That's the big splash you make. I know the guy has been an assistant at some big time programs (LSU, Notre Dame & Texas), but this seems like a reach. Especially when your bitter rival West Virginia hires the guy you wanted to be your head coach as a head coach-in-waiting. That's got to sting a little. At least you still have basketball season.

Thursday Night Football Cheerleader Preview -- #19 Miami v. Pitt

The U got flat out embarrassed 2 weeks ago by Ohio State. Then they had to come home to some racist tweets (you stay classy, Miami fans!). Tonight they get to take out a little aggression on (as usual) overrated Pitt. I'm not sure why people are talking about this being such a great game. Pitt is not very good, and they're going to be even worse without Greg Romeus. I'm taking Miami in a rout.

Is Pitt Going To Be Any Good This Year?

They are ranked 15th in both of the pre-season polls, but I just have no idea if that is too high, too low or just about right. I do know they have cute cheerleaders, though, so that's good enough for me.

So Pitt is obviously the better team. Hell, I've got them in my Final Four. But I found a smokin' hot Oakland cheerleader that totally steals the show here (too bad the picture isn't a little closer range). Good work Oakland!!!

Meineke Car Care Bowl -- Pittsburgh v. North Carolina

Pitt could very easily being playing in a BCS Bowl this year. Instead they get to play in the Muffler Bowl. That is a mighty fall. Plus, they have to play North Carolina in North Carolina. That's just mean.

This should be a pretty good game. Pitt's got a pretty good offense and UNC's defense is Top 10. I really think the difference-maker in this game is obvious: the first Tar Heel cheerleader below. That girl is just ADORABLE! I hope UNC wins because I don't want her to EVER be sad!
