My skin tends to get really dry in the winter. I'm currently dealing with ugly red and itchy patches of dry skin all over my face -_-
In the winter, I wash my face with cleanser only at night, to remove dirt and makeup. In the morning, I like to only splash it with water. It's less irritating than using cleanser twice a day. But I hate to have to go upstairs to wash my face in the morning when I wake up at 6:00 to go to school, so I go for the easy way: Pond's Cleansing and Exfoliating Towlettes make my fresh feels fresh in a minute.
At night, in the shower, I use Avon Winter Solutions Fabulously Clean Cleanser. I bought it because I was thrilled to use a cleanser especially formulated for winter use. It is said to "Gently cleanses winter-damages skin and lifts away impurities without leaving skin with a dry feel."... but it does leave my skin feel dry -_-
Nivea Visage Gentle Toner leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh. I'm craving it after I wash my face!
I'm using Freeman Moisture Rich Apricot & Wild Cherry Deep Impact Lathering Facial Scrub to remove dry skin cells. It doesn't dry my skin, and it smells so good! I like the fact that it leathers a little ^^
Avon Winter Solutions Moisturizing Mask also grabbed my attention when I purchase the cleanser of the same collection. I had great hopes for this product, but it doesn't live to its promises -_-
Ah, that good old Vaseline! I'm using it since I'm like... 15? It's versatile, and so inexpensive! And it lasts forever. In the winter, I like to apply it on the dry areas of my face or body; slather it on my hands at night and sleep with cotton gloves on; slather it on my feet and sleep with socks on; use it as a cuticle cream; use it as a lipblam; use it as a night cream... the possibilites are endless! Here, I found this article about 50 uses for Vaseline.
My winter night cream is Avon Solutions Winter Nourishing Night Cream. I love the texture of this product! It's so thick and applies smoothly on the face. It's not the best night cream, however, but I still like it.
My current eye cream is Avon Hydrofirming Bio6 Eye Cream. I feel like it does nothing for my eyes, but I'm decided to pan it anyway. It's been around like forever!
I've just started using Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Moisturizing Gel-Cream for Dry Skin, and I'm loving it so far. The texture is not too think nor too watery, and I like the subtle scent.
How could I not mention my dear Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion? It's a little too light to use it alone, but I like to pair it with another moisturizing cream in the morning or at night.
In the winter, I like to take some Vitamin E capsules to relieve my dry skin. These are Adrien Gagnon Vitamine E 100 U.I.
Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye-Roller has been a part of my skin care routine since it was launched on the market. It took about one week for me to see results on my eye area, and now, it got me hooked!
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is the first cuticle care product I've tried, and I swear by it. I feel like I need it even more in the winter, but it absolutely does the job.
That thing in the little Burt's Bees jar is my homemade lip scrub. It's specially handy in the winter, as my lips get dryer at that time of the year. See how I make it here.
My two favourites lipbalms are Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm and that 100 % natural lip balm I found at a Dollar Tree in Wildwood. It does even have a name, it's only written 100 % Natural Lip Balm All Natural.
I found that Mani + Cure Earth Therapeutics Gardener's Hand Repair Protective Conditioner with shea butter, oatmeal and alpha-hydroxy complex at Winners. For 6$, I thought I'd give it a try. It's supposed to act as an invisible protective "glove" to protect hand from irritants. It's not as thick as I'd wish, but I like it anyway.
Ah, and that amazing Freeman goodstuff Organics Moisture Whipped Butter Butter Shea Butter & Vitamin E... what can I say? It's perfect! The texture, the scent, the results... I can't wait to o a review about this product ^^
And now, onto my NOTW. I wanted to brighten those dull winter days with Avon Nailwear Pro in Sunshine. I will be doing a review of this product soon, as I'm pretty disappointed with it. It took me 3 coats for it to not look streaky. Definitely would not repurchase.
Have you jumped on the Doppelgänger week bandwagon on Facebook? "It’s Doppelgänger week on Facebook; change your profile picture to someone famous (actor, musician, athlete, etc.) you have been told you look like. After you update your profile with your twin then cut/paste this to your status." I've been told I look like Andrée Watters, a singer from the region of Quebec.
Well I know we are not perfect lookalike, but I still think it's funny!
I'm sorry, but I had to activate the word verification setting on my blog because I'm getting a lot of weird comments, and I'm suspecting they are from automated systems or robots.
