FOTD + OOTD: Tell me what you want so we can do just what you like

I recently started working as a sales person at a clothing boutique at my local mall (I won't discolse the name here, I don't want any problem, but if you really want yo know, you can tweet me) and I love it so far, it's very different from my previous jobs but I'm always up for new aventures and challenges!

The employees have a dress code to follow and I'm actually enjoying having to get dressed up for work - and we are also required to wear lipstick or lipgloss, which is cool because I don't have lots of occasions to wear lipsticks and I have so many! So here are my FOTD and OOTD for my second day at work.

FOTD + OOTD: You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart, never really had luck, couldn’t never figure out how to love

I've been requested a look using MAC Surf Baby Cheek Powder in My Paradise that I recently won in Michelle's 100 followers giveaway (thank you again Michelle!) and I couldn't wait to show you how gorgeous it is!

Face

OLAY  Regenerist Eye Touch of Concealer Eye Regenerating Cream *
Marcelle Concealer Palette - Universal Beige
Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer *
Sheer Cover Mineral Foundation SPF 15 - Bisque *
MAC Surf Baby Cheek Powder - My Paradise

Eyes

L'Oréal Voluminous Carbon Black *
Too Faced Eye Shadow - Sitcom Siren

Lips

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Pink In The Afternoon

L - R: only the blush color, only the overspray, both blended together

As I mentionned above, the sole purpose of this FOTD was to show you how gorgeous My Paradise looked once applied on the cheeks... but of course I forgot to take proper pictures before leaving for school, so I had to rush to take pictures with my phone once in my car, hence the crappy quality. I hope you can still see how gorgeous and shimmery it is? I have found the glitters to be quite chunky and hard to blend but I love how they tone down the blush a bit, because it's super pigmented.

Plaid shirt - Stitches | Striped tank - The Bay | Hurley Jacket - Winners | Miley Cyrus & Max Azria jeggings - Wal-Mart | Leopard print flats - Wal-Mart | Nail polish - Eyeko Posh polish

* Product tested on animals. You may (or may not) be aware that Gaby's Beauty Blog recently went cruelty-free. However, I hope it's understandable that I can't simply throw away the products I have previously purchased that have unfortunately been tested on animals - believe me, I wouldn't hesitate if I were rich! My goal is to use up those products but not repurchase them in the future. Also, Gaby's Beauty Blog will no longer accept for review purposes products that have been tested on animals.

Lyrics are from How To Love, from Lil Wayne

FOTD + OOTD: Girl my body don't lie, I'm outta my mind, let it rain over me

My first day of Uni was on September 1st so this post is a little late but it's better late than never, don't you think? Oh and I'm not that pale in person, I blame the flash and the stupid cloudy weather we've had lately! Maybe it's time to fake tan?

Karmin G3 Salon Pro Professional 100% Pure Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron: I was absolutely amazed to win Sarah's giveaway as I was in the need for a new flat iron  because a) I've had my current one since high school and b) my mother has started to "steal" mine everyday and it annoyes me quite a bit to be honest! Here's the description of the Karmin G3 Salon Pro from HairTools.ca:
With New Advanced 100% Pure Tourmaline Ceramic Plates. The first iron with this advanced technology. These new plates allow your hair to slide through the plates without catching or pulling on your hair. plus the results are amazing.

  • 360 swivel cord so you can easily manuever around without the cord tangling

  • Variable temperture control up to 450Fwhich

  • Allows you to select the perfect tempurtare based on the hair type. If you have thick or curly hair you need an styling iron that reaches 450f.

  • Professional high grade heating element that allows the iron to heat up quickly and to be used continuously without burning out during your styling.

  • Dual voltage so you can bring your iron to other countries. great for traveling

  • Slim handle design, no more bulky handles that make it hard to hold, with the slim handle it fits perfectly in your hands and is light to use.

  • Curved plates that allow you to not only straighten your hair but you can also curl and style your hair in so many other ways. Thats why we call it a styling iron not a flat iron.

Veet EasyGrip Ready-To-Use Wax Strips sample kit: Veet were giving away this kit on their website some times ago. Don't want to miss another cool offer? Be sure to follow me on Twitter and "like" my Facebook page!

Sigma F45 Buffer Brush: Just like the majority of beauty bloggers out there, I'm part of Sigma Beauty Affiliate Program. Of course, the best part of being an affiliate is their awesome incentive program - which is way less awesome now that it has been updated, in my opinion. Previously Sigma provided complimentary products for all affiliates, regardless of their number of followers, subscribers or fans. However, this was a promotional period for the program that has now come to an end, which is very sad because now you have to have at least 1000 blog followers (or 5000 YouTube subscribers) to be able to redeem a complimentary product - not to mention that I personally think the products are way less interesting (I was aiming for the Synthetic Face Kit but it looks like I will have to do with the Cleansing & Polishing Tool). You can have a look at the new categories here. Anyway, it's just my opinion - I'm not complaining because I was lucky enough to have the chance to receive a complimentary Travel Kit in the past and now this Buffer Brush.

Now it's time to announce the winner of my Veet giveaway...

Taygan! Congrats!

Don't worry if you didn't win this time, my Sebastian Professional giveaway is open until Saturday at midnight!

☑ Marcelle Essentials Soothing Gel Eye Make-Up Remover review

As I said in my review, this is the first gel makeup remover I have used, and as good as it is (non-oily or greasy and doesn't leave residues behind), I hate that it stinks so bad if you happen to get some products in your eyes! I think it is very strange for a product that claims to be soothing...

Repurchase: no

What I'm currently using to replace it: OLAY Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Makeup Remover + Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

☑ Cranberry & Pear Bath Soak

I had three of this thing if I remember well, and I'm glad I have finally used them all up! This does nothing at all for my skin ):

Repurchase: no

What I'm currently using to replace it: Radox Herbal Bath Salts Vapour Therapy

☑ EOS Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream Pomegranate Raspberry

Personally, I like a very thick shave cream, and this one is super runny and light, I had to keep reapplying some product. It's a real mess to use!

Repurchase: no

What I'm currently using to replace it: random bar of soap or shower gel

☑ Mary Kay Signature Lip Gloss in Pink Diamonds review

I like this, it's not very pigmented but it's very glossy and pretty without being too sparkly. Because of its small size, I liked to keep it in my handbag. It's a little pricey ($13), but I would recommend it anyway.

Repurchase: yes

What I'm currently using to replace it: Annabelle Le Juice Juicy Lip Shine in Strawberry Soufflé

☑ Juara Sweet Black Tea & Rice Facial Moisturizer (sample)

I've had two of these samples in my handbag for some times and I don't really know what to say about them because I didn't use them on a daily basis. It didn't seem really moisturizing on my dry skin though.

Repurchase: at $48, no thanks!

What I'm currently using to replace it: Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Moisturizing Gel Cream for dry skin

☑ 100% Pure Body Cream (samples)

The first thing that struck me with this body cream was the scent. My favorite by far was Green Apple - yum! They all smell amazing - and I'm not talking about that cheap chemical scent! I wish the scent would last longer on the skin but this body cream is still a pleasure to use regardless. As for the texture, it's just what I was expecting for a body cream: deliciously rich, non greasy and fast absorbing. There is a wide variety of scents available and they are all vegan, except Honey Almond, which is vegetarian.

Repurchase: yes!

What I'm currently using to replace it: Biotherm Sun After Oligo-Thermal Sparkle Cream

☑ Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner (89 mL)

I never really know what to say about a shampoo or conditioner, that's why I don't write reviews of this type of product. These are supposed to "provide nourishing moisture, leaving hair luxuriously soft, manageable and full of lustre". I'm not sure I can agree as I didn't notice my haire being especially shiny or healthy-looking after use, but I guess they did their job.

Repurchase: no

What I'm currently using to replace it: John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner (sample)

Shopping: Groupe Marcelle Spring 2011 Warehouse Sale

At first, I wasn't even sure to go to Marcelle Spring 2011 Warehouse Sale because I didn't really need anything, but I went to pick up some goodies for Halifax so of course, I had to have a nosey for myself as well. I didn't leave with empty hands, but I'm pretty happy that it didn't cost me more than $12, if I'm right. Everything from Annabelle was $1.50 and everything from Marcelle was $2.50, which is pretty amazing. There was also various skincare items at great discount prices. I doubt there's other warehouse sales with prices as nice as this one!

Here's what I got:

Annabelle Kabuki Brush $1.50 If I remember well, this little limited-edition packaging of the Annabelle Mineral Powder Blush was available at Shoppers Drug Mart when their mineral line was launched. As much as I wanted the limited-edition kabuki brush, I didn't want to purchase the package as I already had the blush, so I was super happy to see the pouch with only the kabuki at the sale. It's super cute, soft and very dense, and I'm definitely keeping the pouch!

Marcelle Essentials Purity Soothing Cleansing Water $8-$9 (I can't remember) OMG, I'm totally in love with this stuff. I just realized I didn't even review it yet! It's amazing for sensitive eyes or dry skin (like mine), and it removes even the heaviest makeup in a single swipe! I'm not purchasing any other makeup remover, not even baby oil!

Marcelle Power Volume Mascara $2.50 I've heard great things about it, and well, how could I say no to a $2.50 mascara?
I can't wait for the Fall Warehouse Sale now!

And the winner of my hairfreé Hair Brushes Giveaway is...

    Congrats! I just emailed you!

Mail of the Week (February 14 - 18)

Gift certificate from L'Oréal: Remember my complaint to L'Oréal regarding L'Oréal Féria Power Reds? Monday, I received a gift certificate for a box of hair dye of my choice (excluding Color Expert). That was pretty quick!

The DivaCup from iHerb.com: I have been curious about menstrual cups for some times now, and I finally decided to give a try after hearing many good times about it recently. The DivaCup retails for around $40 and up at drugstores in Quebec, so I was amazed to find it for only $26.60 on iHerb.com! I searched the net and managed to find a $5 off coupon code, so the grand total, with shipping ($3.00), was $24.60. Bargain! Now I wouldn't say I'm excited to get my periods... but still... LOL!

T-shirts from Crazy Dog T-Shirts: I was given the opportunity to review some shirts and give one away (but shhh, it's a secret!), so I chose Birthday Shotasaurus for me (you know I can't say no to alcohol...), and I let my boyfriend chose one from himself, which happened to be One Man Wolf Pack (quote from the movie Hangover). They are so soft and they fit perfectly!

Samples from MiN New York: I was contacted by Levi from MiN New York to try and review some of their products. I have never heard of this store before but I was curious to try their products, and so here is what I received:
    • samples of ProEnzyme Trio AntiAging Facial Cleanser
    • samples of 1270 Eau de Parfum by Frapin (which retails at $150.00!!!)
    • Alvarez Gomez Agua de Colonia Soap

Oster 12 Speed Glass Jar Blender from CSN Stores: I told you I needed a blender... and here it is! I already started using it to make my morning smoothies, and wow, I'm amazed! It blends and whips everything in a matter of seconds... I think I'm in love!

Pack of Dentyne Ice: Dentyne Canada is hosting a little game on Facebook, and they will send you a pack of gum if you take part in The Great Kissing Debate. Join the fun here!

T-shirt from TShirtPrinting.net: I was offered to review this cute shirt, and I decided that my boyfriend would be the model. What, he gets a free shirt after all! =P

    FOTD & OOTD: Geneviève & Donald's wedding

Saturday, my friends and I gathered together to celebrate our friends Geneviève and Donald's wedding, and I wanted to share some pictures with you.

The wedding was celebrated in a church somewhere in Laval, but I don't remember which one it was. The reception was held at Buffet Il Gabbiano, which is where my friends and I celebrated our prom!

Unfortunately, I absolutely didn't have the time to snap some close-up pictures of my makeup, but it was a basic gold and brown smokey eye - just like I always do (=

     The bride and the groom

We have known Gen since high school, so it's great to still be in touch with her and to have the chance to be with here in this very special day. Donald is also a great and funny guy!

I got this dress from Winner for only $25!

I tried to find pictures of the back of my dress, and those are the only ones I found.

Strapless dresses are so annoying, but I couldn't resist this one... especially in this color! I also wore some bracelets and earrings (the same the bride wore!) that I borrowed from my mother, along with a simple necklace I got from Etsy. I wanted all the attention to be on the dress!

Véro, Gen, Sara and me before entering in the church.

    With the girls, agai

With my other friend Gen (who reads my blog - Hi Gen!)

    With Sara

     With my boyfriend

     The cake! Yummy ^^

    Everybody!

And these are the only pictures I found where you can - almost - cleary see my makeup:

    Eyes
    Avon SuperExtend Mascara - Black
Annabelle Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette - Shooting Star
Annabelle Glitterama Liquid Eyeliner - Funshine (upper lash line)
Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Singles - Vanilla (highlighter)
    Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner - Onyx

    Face
Annabelle Zebra Bronzing Powder - Haute Gold
Marcelle Minerlas Powder Blush - Natural Glow
Annabelle Satellite Pearl Powder - Celestial Pearl

    Lips
Mary Kay SignatureLip Gloss - Pink Diamonds

For my hair, I went for the usual loose waves. At first, I wanted to curl it with a curling iron but I ran out of time. Next time, maybe?
