Week 9 Winners - Iowa State

So much for riding the momentum of knocking off Oklahoma last week. How does Texas Tech get beat by 34 points at home to Iowa State? This was the biggest shock of the week for me.

Week 8 Winners -- Iowa State

Weekly Winners is our weekly highlights of college football teams that pulled off upsets during the previous weekend. As usual, we will celebrate these upsets with cheerleaders. And maybe a little snarky commentary.


What in the hell is going on down there in Austin? How do you beat Nebraska on the road one week then turn around and lose to Iowa State the next? That just doesn't happen to Texas. Maybe there is traction to the rumor that some UT alums are looking to force Mack Brown out after this season. I don't see it happening, but if you keep losing to the Big 12's bottom feeders it's only a matter of time.

Insight Bowl -- Iowa State v. Minnesota

The last of today's 3 bowl games featuring Big 12 teams is a doozy. Perpetual Big 12 doormat Iowa State travels to Arizona to take equally boring Minnesota. At least Minnesota was quasi-exciting when they had giant WR Eric Decker. But now that he's out for the season, I'm not sure why anyone would watch this game. I hope the Insight Bowl people are still happy they picked 6-6 Iowa State over an 8-4 Missouri team that thumped them head-to-head. Not that I'm bitter!

Week 8 Winners -- Iowa State

I realize this game might not be a big deal for most people, but I hate Nebraska and want to take as many chances as I can to take shots at them. So when Iowa State walks into your building, holds you to 7 points and beats you for the first time in your house since 1977, I think they deserve a spot among the Week's Winners. Plus, this girl is really cute.
