Maybe these are the hottest cheerleaders in Iowa. We had a debate between Iowa and Iowa State the other day in these comments, but maybe UNI should be part of the conversation.

Northern Iowa Cheerleaders Loved Their Tourney Run

It may have only been a trip to the Sweet 16, but UNI pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament when they beat Kansas in Round 2. The Panthers earned a lot of fans during this tournament, most of them Big 12 fans that love to watch the Jayhawks get bounced from the tournament about 3 rounds before they should.

Here come the giant killers!!!! And make no mistake about it, Michigan State is another giant. They may not be as great as years past, but they are a national power with one of the best coaches in the land. Now that Kalin Lucas is out 4-6 months, UNI might even be the favorite in this game. I'm not sure I see that, but I think it becomes almost a pick 'em game at this point.

NCAA TOURNEY ROUND 1 PREVIEW -- (8) UNLV v. (9) Northern Iowa

Just like every other 8 v. 9 game, this one looks like a toss-up between 2 schools that I know nothing about. But I'm taking the midwestern fundamentally sound UNI squad to earn the right to be the 2nd team smoked by Kansas in this tournament. Congratulations boys! Though it should be mentioned that UNLV has, BY FAR, the hotter cheerleaders in this match-up.
