Orange Bowl Cheerleader Preview -- Stanford v. Virginia Tech

The BCS bowls fire back up tonight after a night off with Stanford playing what I would consider the surprise BCS team in Virginia Tech. After starting the season with back-to-back losses to Boise State (respectable) and James Madison (unacceptable), the Hokies reeled off 11 straight wins in route to another ACC title. Credit Frank Beamer for righting the ship and getting his boys back on track.

Tonight, however, they are going to have to stop the top NFL-prospect QB in the nation in Andrew Luck. And that is much easier said than done. The Heisman runner-up has been a stud all season, even if most people didn't know how he was until about 2/3 of the way through the year. Dude is a stud and will be cashing some major checks very soon.

Stanford Cheerleaders Ready to Start the Post-Toby Gerhart Era

And by ready, of course, I mean they are resigned to the fact that they are going to be irrelevant again. I know everyone thinks Jim Harbaugh is a genius coach, but I just don't see it happening again. I think they found lightening in a bottle last year, but that lightening is now trying to make an NFL squad.

Sun Bowl -- Oklahoma v. Stanford

The Sun Bowl features two teams that had, for most people anyway, very unexpected seasons. Okalhoma returns the Heisman Trophy winner, a sick running back and one of the best defenses in the country. And then proceeds to lay egg after egg. Obviously Sam Bradford was more important to this team than anyone realized.

Stanford, on the other hand, came into the year with a chance to have a pretty good year, but I don't think anyone realistically expected them to play this well. Plus, I guarantee you no one expected Toby Gerhardt to finish 2nd in the Heisman balloting when this season kicked off.

Regardless, here we are. I just don't see Oklahoma pulling this one out. I think they pack it up and get ready for next year.

Week 11 Winners -- Stanford

Obviously the big winners of the week, Stanford comes through and throttles another Top 10 team. I don't know what Jim Harbaugh is putting in the Palo Alto water, but I'd sure like to get some. Great win for the Cardinal.

Cheers to t.annej for the cool pic.

Week 10 Winners -- Stanford

They freakin' did it again! Second upset of the year, and this one is a BIG one. Sure they gave up 42 points. But they pinned 51 on Oregon! I didn't think they had a prayer. Of course, that's why I don't bet on football.

Week 4 Winners -- Stanford

Let's be honest, we all saw this one coming. No way Washington pulls off the biggest upset in the last decade of the program, gets ranked and then comes out the next week and wins on the road. Not even at Stanford. I mean, even these girls knew Stanford was going to win this game.
