Game of the Week: #3 Alabama v. #23 Penn State

Remember when this would have been a battle of Top 10 teams? Now Penn State is struggling to stay ranked and Bama is ripping through everything in their path. That being said, this game is being played in Happy Valley and that sea of white can be pretty intimidating.

I also find it interesting that both teams are still trying to settle on a QB. Don't see that very often in a battle of ranked teams, but it's still early so anything is possible.

As far as the cheerleader battle goes, I'll let you make up your own minds, but I think there is a definitive winner on the sidelines. And that's coming from a Nittany Lions fan!

NCAA Tourney Round 1 Cheerleader Preview - #7 Temple v. #10 Penn State

Talk about playing your way into the tournament. I didn't think Penn State had a prayer of making the field at the start of the Big Ten tourney. But that just goes to show you what a well-timed run at the end of the season can do for you. Not only are they in the tourney, but they are a 10 seed. That's higher than some teams that were considered locks early last week.

Outback Bowl Cheerleader Preview -- Florida v. Penn State

This year's Outback Bowl features a couple of iconic programs that have seen better times. It also features 2 of the biggest coaching names in the nation. But would have thought we'd be talking about Urban Meyer's last game before retiring and not Joe Paterno's last game. Well, if we'd been paying attention at all, probably most of us could have seen this coming. I think it's a foregone conclusion that JoePa is going to die on the sidelines. Literally. The Nittany Lions are going to have ball on 3rd and 4 on their own 32 yard line when JoePa goes off to coach God's team in heaven.

Penn State Cheerleaders Salute JoePa's 400th Victory

There's no decent Thursday Night Football tonight, so instead we are going to pay tribute to a milestone victory by Penn State's Joe Paterno from last weekend. Old Man River won his 400th game in Division 1 football, becoming the only coach to ever reach that milestone in college football's biggest division. Think what you will about JoePa, but the man knows his football and deserves to be praised for all of his accomplishments over the past 45 seasons!

Capital One Bowl -- Penn State v. LSU

A couple of traditional powerhouses get to battle it out in the What's In Your Wallet Bowl. A little disappointing for the teams involved, but it gives the fans a really good game to watch early on New Year's Day. This is basically a BCS caliber bowl without the big time payout.

I actually like both of these teams. They play big time, exciting football and have some tremendous athletes on both sides of the ball. So sit back and enjoy an late Christmas present from the bowl system. The winner ends up in the Top 10 for about the 97th time.
