Game of the Week: #1 LSU v. #2 Alabama

Game of the Week? Hell, this is the Game of the Year. I don't think there is much doubt these are the 2 best teams in the country right now. Oklahoma State may have an argument, but I'm not really sold on Stanford or Boise State. So in my mind, this SEC clash is the biggest game of the year. I think the winner Saturday night wins it all this year.

The sidelines, however, may be enough to distract me from the game a few times through the night. Both Alabama and LSU have some serious cheerleader firepower. For instance, let's not forget LSU hottie Jessica. And of course, there is Alabama's Elena and the pictures from this great pool party.

So I have no idea which squad has the hotter cheerleaders. I'll leave that up to you guys to decide.

As for the game, I'm going with the Tide.

Game of the Week: #3 Alabama v. #12 Florida

There are a ton of great games this week. We're actually going to preview the #8 Nebraska v. #7 Wisconsin game tomorrow. But don't forget about #11 Virginia Tech v. #13 Clemson and #14 Texas A&M v. #18 Arkansas in their SEC preview battle.

But this battle of SEC powerhouses is the showdown of the week. Florida is actually surprising me a little bit this year. We all knew they would be good, but they've honestly been better than I expected in the post-Urban Meyer era. But that doesn't mean a damn thing when Alabama comes rolling into town. You know The Swamp is going to be rocking for this prime time kick-off.

We also know the cheerleaders are going to be prime. This is a heavyweight battle on the sidelines, as well. No telling which team really has the upper-hand when it comes to cheerleaders. I'll let you be the judge of that.

Game of the Week: #3 Alabama v. #23 Penn State

Remember when this would have been a battle of Top 10 teams? Now Penn State is struggling to stay ranked and Bama is ripping through everything in their path. That being said, this game is being played in Happy Valley and that sea of white can be pretty intimidating.

I also find it interesting that both teams are still trying to settle on a QB. Don't see that very often in a battle of ranked teams, but it's still early so anything is possible.

As far as the cheerleader battle goes, I'll let you make up your own minds, but I think there is a definitive winner on the sidelines. And that's coming from a Nittany Lions fan!

Alabama Cheerleader Pool Party

Posts might be a little sparse this week, so I'll try to make them good. Today, for instance, we've got some pictures from a little pool party featuring some of the University of Alabama's finest cheerleaders. Like I said, we're going for quality over quantity this week.

Capital One Bowl Cheerleader Preview -- Alabama v. Michigan State

Talk about a couple of teams that had higher hopes this season. Bama was the returning national champion and had the Heisman trophy winner coming back. They seemed to have all the pieces necessary to make a run for back-to-back championships. Unfortunately for the Bammers, things didn't work out that way.

Michigan State's hopes ran even deeper into the season. Like, all the way until bowl selection day. I think most people thought the Spartans would get an at-large BCS bid. I KNOW the Michigan State folks thought they would get one. Instead, they have to go to Orlando to play (easily) the best 3-loss team in the country. Congratulations.

Game of the Day -- #2 Auburn v. #11 Alabama

Well, here it is. The game everyone has been waiting for once we realized just how good Cam Newton and Auburn really are. This is obviously the biggest test of the season for the Tigers. Plus, it's their rivalry game, so that brings all of the additional storylines that rivarly games always provide.

If this thing was at Jordan-Hare, I'd go with Auburn. But for some reason I see Alabama pulling off the upset and ending Auburn's title hopes in devastating fashion. It's one thing for a random team to derail your title dreams, but it's just that more devastating if it's your bitter rival.

Game of the Day -- #19 Mississippi State v. #12 Alabama

Honestly, there aren't really any great games on the schedule this week. Hell, there are only 3 games that pit 2 Top 25 teams against each other, and this SEC game is the best of that bunch. But it's certainly not a game anyone is going to get overly excited about this late in the season. At least both teams have cute cheerleaders! Hopefully next week will offer up some more intriguing games.
