Appart from the gorgeous leopard print design (can it get any cuter?), I must admit that when I first received the brush, I thought it looked kind of cheap - it's is very light and it didn't seem sturdy at all. I don't have any other retractable brush so I can't compare this brush to another, but after carrying it around in my handbag for some times, it did get some scratches on it but nothing major, and I was pleased to see that the brush never slided open by itself (which was my biggest fear).
I didn't have a problem with the packaging - it slides open and close very well, although it can be hard to perfectly align the cap with the little dents sometimes, as it seems to be very tight, but it has grown on me now.
The hair is super soft and very dense. Despite its softness, it does pick up powders very well - it works with everything from loose powder to bronzers and even cream blushes! Seriously, I'm impressed at the quality of this brush for the price! I washed it around two times and I didn't notice shedding.
