Biotherm Sun After

Biotherm's range of suncare and self-tan products is an important step in maintaining healthy, beautiful skin. Whether you choose to use in-sun or self-tan formulas, your skin will radiate with a sun-kissed glow that shows that it is well protected and perfectly cared for.

It's been a long time since I've used after sun products, and honestly, I never really believed the hype surrounding these products as to me, a $5 body moisturizer containg aloe does the same. Still, when I was offered to test these Biother products, I decided to give them a chance.

Oligo-Thermal Milk ($35.00 for 200ml)
Biotherm innovation: High moisture at the service of a luminous, long-lasting tan.
- Alleviates overheating after overexposure to the sun. Enriched with Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton, trace minerals and Vitamins B5 and E, this formula soothes sun-damaged skin.
- Immediate refreshing action: Shea butter, apricot kernel, black current and seed essential oils nourish the skin to prevent dehydration for softer skin.
Moisturized and soothed, the skin reveals a luminous and long-lasting tan.

The texture is way too light for my personal taste - yes, it is really milky. It's not runny but still, I feel like I need a lot of product to cover my body and it doesn't feel moisturizing at all on my super dry skin. In fact, instead of soothing my skin, it irritated my eczema even more and made my dry patches of skin burn like hell, which has never happened to me before with any other skincare product!

As the texture is so light, it is very quickly absorbed into the skin without being greasy, but what's the point if it's not moisturizing?

The packaging of this product is the same as Biotherm Sun Protection Ultra-Fluid Body Milk - at first I thought it was an interesting shape, but it's not the most convenient. I would have preferred a pump bottle or a squeezable tube, but Biotherm tried to make an hybrid of the two, which leaves us with a hard to squeeze bottle, meaning that you can't get every last bit of product without cuting the tube open.

The Oligo-Thermal Milk has a subtle but pleasant clean and fresh scent that doesn't linger very long on the skin.

I have stopped using this milk after three weeks because it really made my skin condition worsen. It made my eczema flare up and it made my skin irritated and itchy. Maybe I have an allergy to one of the product - which I doubt - but you never know. I really want to give it a try again later, maybe next summer?

Oligo-Thermal Sparkle Cream ($35.00 for 200ml)
Biotherm Innovation: Intense body moisturizer that illuminates and gives skin a toned and healthy glow.
Provides the skin with optimal hydration to preserve an even longer-lasting tan.
Enriched with Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton, Pro vitamines B5 and E and trace minerals to soothe and promote cellular regeneration in sun-damaged skin.
Illuminates the body with a subtle veil of pearlescent particles.

I will be honest - at first, I hated the shimmers in this cream! It was supposed to be iridescent but I thought the sparkles were so shimmery and obvious. Oddly enough, I think it grew on me, and now I love it!

The texture is amazing - it's a cream but when applied on the skin, it's actually more of a gel! It's fast absorbed into the skin, leaving it smooth and moisturized, and subtly shimmery.

Doesn't it look dreamy?

This Oligo-Thermal Cream comes in a big 200ml tub and you do get a lot of product for your money. The scent is the similar to the Oligo-Thermal Milk, although it seems more heavy to me, but it still pleasant.

I think I'm addicted to this cream! It makes my legs look great. I'm not sure if it preserves my tan (I don't have much of a tan anyway) but I would definitely recommend it.
